How to Back Up Screenshots and Settings Before Updating FLASH Beta

Before replacing a beta build, protect the local items you care about. This guide covers screenshots, screen recordings, login checks and settings notes.

How to Back Up Screenshots and Settings Before Updating FLASH Beta

Beta testing often involves replacing builds. Most game progress is tied to an account, but local screenshots, recordings, downloaded resources and personal configuration can still be affected when you uninstall or clear app data.

Verify your login method first

Before removing anything, make sure you know which account or sign-in method you used. Do not rely on remembering it after the app is gone. If the beta uses a temporary testing login, note that separately.

Move screenshots and recordings

Files captured by Android's screenshot or screen recorder usually live outside the game app, but custom recorder apps may use their own folders. Copy important clips to another folder, computer or cloud storage before a cleanup.

Record graphics and control settings

If you spent time tuning sensitivity, graphics or controls, take screenshots of the settings pages. Beta builds can reset options, and screenshots are faster than rebuilding everything from memory.

Do not confuse cache with app data

Clearing cache normally removes temporary files. Clearing storage/app data can reset local configuration and force resource downloads. Read the Android confirmation message carefully before tapping.

Keep the previous APK only when you need it

An old installer can be useful if a test explicitly allows rollback, but storing many large APKs wastes space. Keep one known-good copy if necessary and delete obsolete installers once a new build is confirmed working.

Note the current build number

Take a screenshot of the version shown in the app or Android settings. If the new build behaves differently, you will have a clear before-and-after reference.

After the update

Open the game, confirm sign-in, review controls and test one match before downloading every optional resource. If something is wrong, you will know the issue appeared immediately after the update.

Use the FLASH beta APK update guide for the installation sequence and the main download page for the current file route.

What usually does not need a manual backup

Server-synced account progress is normally tied to the account rather than the APK file, but a beta can have special rules and test data may not be permanent. Never assume test progress will survive a server reset simply because your normal PUBG Mobile account does.

Create a tiny “before update” folder

One practical method is to keep a folder containing screenshots of your sensitivity, controls, graphics settings, current build number and any important error. It takes only a few images and gives you a clean reference after each beta update.

When uninstalling is unavoidable

If the publisher tells testers to perform a clean installation, verify your login details first, copy any personal media you care about, and note which optional resources you had installed. After reinstalling, download only the content you need instead of immediately restoring everything.
